After former The Hills star Audrina Patridge made comments to The Daily about her future saying she wants “a break from reality,” some of us who watch far too much television started wondering what that could mean for her reality television show, Audrina. Perhaps she meant there were plenty more episodes of the series coming because real life is just too much to handle and she needs to retreat to the half-scripted, vapid, eye-rolling wonderland that is reality television. That’s surely what she meant by needing a break from “reality” right? Reality equals real life, right? Wrong. It seems VH1 passed on a second season of Audrina, which makes Patridge’s confusing comments look a lot like a poorly-worded preemptive move to make sure the lack of a second season shows up on all our radar as her decision and not VH1’s. Well, either way you slice it, the gravy boat has sailed. Patridge’s reality television life seems to be at a standstill.
She seems to have a few other ideas of what she can do with the smidge of fame she’s got left though. She tells The Daily she wants to host and act, maybe even in a “medieval” period piece like Troy. Oh brother. Well, fans of Patridge’s starry-eyed, empty gaze and confused giggle, there’s always the entire six seasons of The Hills on Netflix.
