I think it’s safe to say we were all looking forward to seeing Zach Galifianakis’ return to the SNL stage this weekend and I think it’s safe to say we got what we bargained for: more straight up crazy from our favorite Marijuana Santa Claus. And yeah. He shaved something again.
With the return of Zach came the return of the monologue that is actually laugh out loud funny (not like the “lol” your friend sends you at work when you send them a picture of a puppy on a scooter, but an actual silence-interrupting belly laugh-inducing kind of funny).
But then it got better. The digital short treated us to the combination of two hilarious and wonderful things: Zach’s strangeness and well-spoken five-year-olds. Mr. Galifianakis is in the market for a new assistant and one of these lucky kids just may the right tyke for the job. (Beards not required.)
And for good measure, the SNL crew ended the show on an oldie but a goodie: a funny bearded man in a dress and Bill Hader in a bonnet.
