As though a Michael Fassbender/Penélope Cruz sex scene, the first original screenplay by The Road and No Country for Old Men author Cormac McCarthy, and a drug-trafficking plot wasn’t enough, Ridley Scott‘s The Counselor has now enticed us further with this sensual clip. Though it won’t appear in the film itself, we have to wonder what the context of this scene could possibly be.
In it, Game of Thrones’s Natalie Dormer sells Fassbender some lingerie, and the conversation is both intensely serious and flirty. It’s presented as backstory, but it leaves us with more questions than answers. Is Dormer’s knowing smile more than just polite customer service? Why is Fassbender so knowledgable about lingerie? What’s even going on at the end? Make your own guesses after you watch the clip below, and maybe the movie, which comes out October 25, will provide some answers.
