Grown Ups 3 is officially happening, with Adam Sandler and the original cast returning for a third installment of the popular comedy franchise. Netflix confirmed the movie on August 6, revealing that Sandler will reunite with Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello and Salma Hayek Pinault.
The new cast additions include Julie Bowen, Deon Cole and Bailee Madison. Jackie Sandler, Shaquille O’Neal, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne and Nick Swardson are also returning, alongside several familiar faces from the previous films.
Directed by Kyle Newacheck, Grown Ups 3 is currently in production in New Jersey. Sandler co-wrote the screenplay with Tim Herlihy. The story will take the longtime friends in a new direction now that their children have grown up.

According to the official synopsis, “Now that their kids are all grown up, the gang is finally free to go on the ultimate adventure.”
The original Grown Ups premiered in 2010 and followed a group of lifelong friends who reunite for a Fourth of July getaway after learning that their former basketball coach has died. The film became a major box-office success, earning $272 million worldwide despite receiving largely negative reviews from critics.
Grown Ups 2 followed in 2013 and brought in another $247 million globally. While both movies were heavily criticized, they developed a loyal audience and have remained popular through television and streaming.
With the original stars back together and several new additions joining the cast, Grown Ups 3 could give fans another chance to see the beloved comedy crew embark on their latest adventure.
