2022 Critics Choice Awards Winners

Sunday, March 13 was a busy day for Hollywood, with the 2022 BAFTA Awards AND the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards all in one day!

The Power of the Dog won the 2022 Critics Choice Award for Best Film along with 3 other categories.

Belfast won for Best Acting Ensemble. Belfast star Jamie Dornan accepted the award, saying “As someone from Belfast, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of telling a story about a place people don’t have a really big idea about it…without a politicized or military lens, seeing it through the eyes of family — something we can all relate to in Ukraine, families going through this hardship.”

In the TV world, it was a big night for Ted Lasso. Hannah Waddingham, who won Best Supporting Actress and also accepted the award for Best Comedy Series, also used the opportunity to speak up about Ukraine.

“Our beautiful brothers and sisters — and more importantly the babies — in Ukraine that are being utterly decimated at the moment from this putrid, putrid torrent of abuse,” she said. “Please think of them as much as you can and give as much as you can. Make this stop, please.”
