‘N Sync fans, grab a box of tissues: the boy band has cancelled two dates on their Pop Odyssey Tour.
Tropical Storm Barry, with its heavy rains and winds, disrupted both ‘N Sync’s Aug. 2 Miami show at the Pro Player Stadium and Tuesday’s show at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.
Both concerts were cancelled because ‘N Sync were unable to find a “mutually compatible day” to reschedule, according to Clear Channel Communications, which handles the concerts.
‘N Sync postponed their Miami show only hours shy of the event. Hundreds of teen-agers headed to the stadium only to find out the show had been “postponed until further notice,” Miami’s Y-100 FM, the concert’s sponsor, said on its Web site.
‘N Sync had already postponed the Miami concert from May 12 to Aug. 12 because they still needed to rehearse for the tour.
Fans who planned to attend any of the two shows can start receiving their refunds from Ticketmaster. It may be another story for those who spent a little or a lot extra buying tickets through a broker.
“Whoever purchased tickets for the show though us will be able to get a refund when they purchase tickets to any other event–not only in Florida, but in the country,” said a spokesman with the South Florida-based Todd’sTickets.com.
“This is the second time [‘N Sync] should be here in Miami and they cancelled. If I was an ‘N Sync fan I would be very upset.”
