Shazam Fury Of The Gods is coming to Max on May 23, 2023. It promises to be a wild ride for Billy Batson and his family. Here’s everything you need to know about the sequel starring Lucy Liu, Meagan Goode, Rachel Zegler, Sindbad, Zachary Levi, and more!

What is the Story of Shazam?

Shazam: Fury Of The Gods is the sequel to the 2019 movie, Shazam!. It follows the story of Billy Batson, a teenage orphan who can transform into an adult superhero by saying the word “Shazam.” The first Shazam film was a breath of fresh air during many dark and gritty DC films. While it had it’s serious moments, it also took plenty of time to include levity and a bit of schlock that made sense for a story starring a very pulpy DC hero.

In the first movie, Billy had to use his newfound powers to defeat the villainous Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. In the sequel, Billy faces a new set of challenges as he battles against the three daughters of Atlas. Now, Billy must defeat them while fighting alongside his family who have received the same transformational power as him.
