This news was probably something we could have guessed considering AMC’s scheduling plan is pretty transparent and unvarying, but the man behind our beloved Don Draper, Jon Hamm, announced during the “Doug Loves Movies” podcast last week that Mad Men does have an official return date: March 25. Give me a second while I find some scotch to sip in celebration while taking in the sights of New York City through my office window.
This date makes perfect sense because March 25 happens to be the first Sunday after The Walking Dead season finale, which means there is a rather gaping Mad Men-shaped time slot available starting that night. And what better way to stave off Walking Dead withdrawals than by returning to our favorite 1960s realm – a place we’ve been without for over a year and a half. Let me say that again: a year and a half! March 25 really can’t come soon enough; I was starting to think the return of Mad Men was just a myth.
