Everyone’s favorite drug trade drama has been renewed for two more seasons. Netflix has announced that it’s officially given ‘Narcos’ a go for seasons three and four.
Season 2 of hit drama was released on Friday and wraps up the story line following Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. We’re not sure what season three will focus on now that the original story line has ended, but fans have guessed that it will involve the Cali Cartel.
Seasons three and four will premiere in 2017 and 2018 respectively. José Padilha and Eric Newman will stay on as executive producers of the series.
A multi-season renewal is a rare move for Netflix, but Narcos hasn’t seen much critical backlash. Its reviews have been astoundingly positive, so there’s no reason Netflix shouldn’t take a chance and let the writers plan a story line that can work throughout a multitude of seasons rather than just one.
Netflix also released a brand new trailer to get us excited for the upcoming season (just in case you’ve already binge-watched the second). Check it out above!
