On Friday Luke Cage dropped on Netflix. The story follows the sexy Marvel character (who also happens to be Jessica Jones’ hubby) and his life in New York City’s Harlem. The show is arguably Marvel’s blackest show — kudos to Marvel for finally representing people who aren’t just white dudes. Apparently, the Internet doesn’t share the same sentiment.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, though Columbia University has taken over much of the area in recent years, Harlem is a historically black community. It should be no surprise that much of the cast is predominately black and Latino for this reason alone, yet apparently, it is a surprise to the Internet.
Twitter has slammed Luke Cage for its lack of diversity (because white people apparently don’t get enough representation in pop culture as it is).

Is it me or the new Netflix. Luke Cage a little racist. Notice it's mostly black where is the diversity. @LIVE_COVERAGE

And this person who can’t particularly spell likes the show despite its “racist” undertones.

But some people on Twitter recognize how ridiculous it is to claim that Luke Cage is racist. Thank the Lord there is some sanity left in the world!
