People love Sofia Vergara. The Modern Family star has won over a ton of fans in the past few years thanks to her excitable Gloria Delgado character on the ABC series. Beautiful though she may be, Vergara’s mass lovability can more likely be attributed to her very thick, unmistakable accent.
In preparation for her upcoming stint on Saturday Night Live, Vergara visted Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. After Fallon tried his hand at a Colombian accent — which she insulted bluntly — he challenged his guest to see what she could do in the way of an American accent. A real, deep-south cowboy American accent. Vergara’s reluctant delivery of “Howdy, partner!” is something that Modern Family needs to work into an episode one of these days.
Vergara will appear on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, April 7 at 11:30 PM ET/PT on NBC. Modern Family airs Wednesday nights at 9 PM ET/PT on ABC.
