It’s been over ten years since we said goodbye to the Halliwell sisters on Charmed, but it looks like we’ve not seen the last of witches on The CW. Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman along with her producing partner Brad Silverman are developing a Charmed prequel to bring to the network.

According to Season Zero, the series will follow three witches who fight evil in a small New England town during the late ’70s and early ’80s. These ladies will probably the Halliwells’ ancestors from the Warren Line, the most powerful line of witches in history introduced in the original show.

The script was written by Amy Rardin & Jessica O’Toole the writers behind The Carrie Diaries. Jane the Virgin director Brad Silberling is set to helm the pilot episode. It looks like this is one of the series that will be replacing The Vampire Diaries and possibly Supernatural for the 2017-2018 television season.
