After Brad put the ring on Emily’s finger and the camera pulled back on the nice scene that was them twirling around on some boardwalk that had been laid down in someone’s backyard, we were immediately transported into the After The Final Rose special and we learned that since Brad and Emily had shot the proposal, they had already broken up once. Brad didn’t clarify any of the issues he was having with Emily and just told everyone he would marry her immediately if he could (which, oddly enough, he was actually supposed to do on the day they shot the special). But he clarified nothing and we really only started learning what went wrong when Emily came out onstage, not wearing her engagement ring. Brad held her hand and pet the spot where it was supposed to be as she tried to explain to Chris Harrison how, even though she considered them an engaged couple, they still had to learn how to communicate and how to fight and how to come out the other side okay. Brad sat next to her, defeated and disappointed, but excited to keep working on what they have. You can watch the special in its entirety below.
But Popeater’s Rob Shuter says people close to the couple have told him Brad and Emily have broken up. One of them said, “Emily is so insecure, she just isn’t cut out for all the fame and attention her relationship is under. The six weeks of shooting the show in paradise was easy, away from prying eyes and photographers, but since they both returned to their normal lives things have been a disaster.” This also coincides with another frustration that Emily expressed during the after show, and that was how hard it was for her to watch Brad interact with the other girls. She told Chris that every night after the show, she would call him and yell at him for complimenting them so much, and for never choosing her to go on the fun dates. Another source said, “Emily is not able to forgive Brad for what she considers cheating week-after-week with other girls. It’s always hard sending the couple back into reality after they have been living in paradise, but no one in the history of the show has had a hard a time adjusting as Emily.” If you check out the special, it’s pretty clear which one of them is the one with all the reservations.
