‘The Vampire Diaries’: Who Takes the Cure? Claire Holt Weighs In

It’s graduation time for Mystic Falls High School on the Season 4 finale of The Vampire Diaries. Although most of the gang will get their diplomas, they might not all make it to the graduation ceremony, says Claire Holt, soon-to-be star of The Originals and current star of TVD.

“I think [Rebekah] is going to graduate! I mean, I hope she’s going to graduate,” Holt says of her character, who happens to be an ancient vampire. “There’s going to be a lot of elements that come into play when the graduation happens, and I’m not sure she’ll make it to the actual ceremony. But I’d like to think she finishes out the year. I wonder how many times she’s graduated before? Many. I think the high school dance was the one thing that she wanted to make it to, so she’s probably done now. She’s set.”

But graduation isn’t the most momentous occasion that will happen: One person — a person we know and love — will take the cure everyone’s been chasing after for most of the season. It seems safe to assume that Rebekah won’t be the recipient, considering she’s moving to New Orleans with her brothers for their own spinoff, but you never know — especially since Rebekah’s wanted the cure for herself all year.

“I think she’s in love with the idea of becoming human, and she’s in love with the idea of Matt and what he represents, but I think when it really boils down to it I don’t think she’s so certain [she wants to take it after all],” Holt teases.

Who do you think will take the cure? The season finale of The Vampire Diaries, “Graduation,” airs Thursday, May 16 at 8 PM ET/PT on The CW.
