It didn’t take long to kill off this titan.
NBC executives Tuesday informed Aaron Spelling that they wouldn’t be ordering a season’s worth of new episodes of the television mega producer’s show, “Titans,” effectively killing the show. The remaining four episodes are expected to aired over the next few weeks, Variety reports.
It wasn’t definite which show would take over the 8 p.m. slot, but word is that midseason drama “This Life” (working title) is considered to be a favorite.
“The Michael Richards Show” may suffer the same fate if ratings don’t improve. NBC execs are waiting to see how the show performed in Tuesday’s Nielsen’s ratings. And sources say the show may be canceled by the end of the week if ratings don’t improve.
SO MUCH FOR DENNIS MILLER: In other TV ratings news, the Associated Press reports that “Monday Night Football” has received its second-lowest rating in its 31 seasons on ABC. This week’s game between New England and Kansas City drew a 9.9 national rating and 16 share. Only the 1986 game between the Redskins and Giants drew a lower rating, an 8.8, and that game competed against Game 7 of the Word Series between the Red Sox and Mets. This year, “Monday Night Football” has been averaging a 12.7 ratting and 22 share. Each rating point represents a little more than 1 million television households. Share is the percentage of in-use TVs tuned to a program.
