Lady Gaga recently took a trip to Mexico to visit a boys’ orphanage called Casa Hogar de Cabo San Lucas. The starlet came bearing gifts and school supplies, but of course, what would a Gaga visit be without a song?
One little monster named Christian got more than he could have ever hoped for when he asked Gaga for a song. The singer knelt down and belted out an emotional, a cappella rendition of “Born This Way.” The song’s message is so inspiring and the performance is so raw, it almost brought us to tears.
Gaga is looking very un-Gaga like in the video. We’re still getting used to this new, toned-down version of the “Bad Romance” singer. For this visit, the singer swapped her sky-high, platform heels and meat-clad dress for a pretty, tasteful maxi. She looks absolutely stunning with her hair pulled back like that!
Casa Hogar thanked Gaga for her visit, posting a sweet message to the singer on Facebook.
“Thank you to Lady Gaga for the surprise visit. She shared a healthy dinner for the children and brought backpacks and school supplies for each of the boys. She impressed children and staff with her beauty and humility,” they wrote.
Gaga also took to Instagram to share photos of her experience.

Gaga’s trip to Mexico might have been for charity, but it wasn’t without controversy. The singer was spotted without her engagement ring, and hours later, news of her split with Taylor Kinney surfaced.
Though Gaga is freshly single, we’re happy that she could take her mind off the breakup and put her energy towards a good cause. Her emotional performance of “Born This Way” may just be her best, most real performance yet.
