Controversial Arab news channel bombed in Kabul

Al-Jazeera, the all-news channel headquartered in Qatar, claimed Tuesday
that its offices in Kabul, Afghanistan were destroyed by a U.S. missile.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Mohammed Jassim al-Ali said,
“All our equipment has been destroyed, but we believe all our crew are
safe.”

The U.S. wire service said that the bombardment also damaged its
own offices and those of the BBC about a block away from Al-Jazeera. A
BBC reporter who was on the air at the time of the attack was seen
falling out of view of the TV camera.
