The million-member Evangelical Alliance of Britain has condemned the decision of the BBC to appoint Alan Bookbinder, a professed “open-hearted agnostic,” to be head of its religious programming. As reported by Thursday’s London Independent, Joel Edwards, head of the alliance, said: “He is not an active member of any faith community … Would the BBC appoint a head of sport who knows nothing about football?
