TRAFFIC ‘COPTERS FLY AGAIN
The FAA is allowing TV news helicopters and radio stations’ traffic-reporting aircraft to resume operations today, except over New York City and Washington. Reporting on the FAA directive, today’s New York Post commented: “New Yorkers will have to continue to endure delays caused by inspections and limited access without help from traffic reporters in all-seeing helicopters and planes.” An FAA spokesman told the newspaper: “I don’t know when that situation will change.”
