Some true stories are so bizarre, they feel made for the movies—and Roofman is one of them. Based on the real-life case of Jeffrey Manchester, this upcoming crime drama blends suspense, dark humor, and human complexity. With Channing Tatum in the lead and Derek Cianfrance directing, Roofman brings a stranger-than-fiction tale to the big screen. Here’s everything you need to know.

Roofman Movie Trailer
The trailer introduces viewers to Manchester (Tatum), a former military man turned serial robber who breaks out of prison and hides in the ventilation and storage spaces of a closed toy store. As he rebuilds a life in hiding, he forms a connection with a single mother—just as his freedom begins to unravel. Watch it below.
Plot
After slipping out of a North Carolina prison, Manchester avoids capture by setting up camp in the ceiling of a suburban Toys “R” Us. He showers at a local gym, steals food from fast-food restaurants, and leads a double life—until emotions and errors start catching up with him. What begins as a survival tale shifts into something much more complex and haunting.
