Nine months after they started dating, Ben Affleck and girlfriend Jennifer Garner are said to be engaged, according to The Associated Press.
Both People and Star magazines are reporting a “close friend” of Affleck‘s is saying the Pearl Harbor actor has been privately spreading the news. A friend of Garner‘s also told People in February she expected Affleck to propose. Affleck‘s publicist, Ken Sunshine, would not comment, AP reports, and a call to Garner‘s rep was not returned.
No stranger to high-profile romances, Affleck got engaged to Jennifer Lopez in 2002, but perhaps from the strain of the much-hyped union, the two called it off in January 2004. Obviously learning from his mistakes with Lopez, he and Garner, however, have stayed on the down low.
The two lovebirds met while shooting the action flick Daredevil, when Affleck was still with Lopez, but didn’t begin dating until 2004. The marriage would be Garner‘s second. The 33-year-old Alias star was divorced from actor Scott Foley of TV’s Felicity fame in March 2004.
