‘Parenthood’ Star Slams NBC for Not Promoting the Show

Craig T Nelson slams NBC for treatment of Parenthood

One of the stars of NBC’s Parenthood is not too pleased with the way the network has treated his excellent drama. Craig T. Nelson, patriarch of the Braverman clan, recently spoke out about the network’s poor promotion of one of their best programs.

“There are all these people responding to our show and NBC is completely out of it,” Nelson told ET on the red carpet at the show’s PaleyFest panel in Los Angeles on March 7. “They don’t promo the show, you don’t see anything about it out there. It’s like this hidden gem, but why are they ashamed of it?”

Parenthood finished its fourth season, which was only 13 episodes long, in January. Nelson isn’t pleased that the show didn’t get the standard 22-episode run. “We should be doing more episodes. Full seasons,” he told ET. “I don’t understand whatever the agenda is behind the scenes. It’s very confusing. Having been around as long as I have and been on a couple of shows — one of which I ran — it doesn’t make sense to me.”

No decision has been made about whether the drama will get a fifth season, but an uptick in ratings for Season 4, plus the dismal state of NBC’s ratings in general, are both positive signs.
