Set within the same world as The Office, The Paper follows the staff of a struggling Midwestern newspaper as they navigate the challenges of keeping local journalism alive. The mockumentary-style series features an ensemble cast led by Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore.

Season 2 finds the newsroom in a new position after the team earns recognition at the Ohio Journalism Awards. However, the victory does not mean things are getting easier.

Ned, played by Gleeson, becomes determined to pursue a major story involving a local private club. His investigation could create serious problems for the newspaper, while his complicated relationship with Mare adds another layer to his season.

Meanwhile, Esmeralda continues trying to establish herself within the newsroom, while the rest of the staff begins to grow more confident and experienced as journalists.

Returning alongside Gleeson and Impacciatore are Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Tim Key, Ramona Young, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Alex Edelman and Oscar Nuñez.

The Paper Season 2 comes from co-creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, who also executive produce the series. Additional executive producers include Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein and Ben Silverman.
