Welcome to Good in the ‘Wood Wednesdays, where we share good news happening in Hollywood and beyond.
For this week’s #HollyGOOD news: Joe Biden will be inaugurated as POTUS today and celebs are just as excited as we are!
Here’s how Hollywood celebs are reacting to the news:
Lady Gaga rocked a “Joe” sweater in her IG post as she announces she is “deeply honored” to perform the National Anthem at Joe Biden’s inauguration. Gaga also tweeted a hopeful prayer and selfie at the Capitol.
I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/fATHiJHCq0

Demi Lovato says she is “SO honored” and was “left speechless” when asked to perform at Celebrating America, the special event taking place after the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (who was our first feature in Good in the ‘Wood Wednesdays).
Justin Timberlake will perform his new song, Better Days at Celebrating America along with Ant Clemons. The Cry Me a River star says “This past year brought a lot of frustration, grief, anger —and there were times when it was easy to feel powerless. This song was our way of doing what little we could to encourage everyone to stay hopeful… and keep working towards a better, more equal future.”
Justin also says “We have a long way to go to fix, undo, and rebuild this country… but I hope now, despite the past four years, we are on our way.”
He says he is “honored” to perform at Joe Biden’s Inauguration special —hosted by Tom Hanks.
Jon Bon Jovi says he is “very honored to be part of the Presidential Inauguration” He also reminded everyone to “Tune in at 8:30pm as we ring in the new Administration”. See Bon Jovi’s tweet below where he shares a pic with Joe Biden and soon to be first lady, Jill Biden.

John Legend calls the Inauguration “historic” and we concur. Historic for many reasons. First virtual inauguration and first woman Vice President are just some of the historic milestones worth celebrating today.
Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard (of Florida Georgia Line) will perform their new song, Undivided, to help spread the message of unity during the Inauguration special. Tyler shared this on Instagram: “What an honor it will be to get to share such an important message during such a historical moment in time. I pray that this song ignites unity and love for one another like never before. Thank you Lord for giving us this song and the opportunity to be a light.”
Black Pumas also shared their excitement to be performing at Celebrating America. In their IG post, they say it will be “a night that celebrates our country’s rich diversity and resilience.”
Other celebs joining Inaugural celebrations include:
- Luis Fonsi and Ozuna are guests for DJ Cassidy’s special edition of Pass the Mic
- Josh Groban, Patti LaBelle, and the Clark Sisters will perform at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service
- Jennifer Lopez, Garth Brooks, Bruce Springsteen, and the Foo Fighters at the Celebrating America special event
While today’s festivities have limited attendance for safety reasons, Joe Biden will be accompanied by wife Jill Biden, daughter Ashley Biden, and son Hunter Biden.
