Anne Hathaway Still Angling For ‘Glee’ Cameo

Apparently, all you have to do to get a cameo on Glee is reach a minimum of YouTube level fame (ahem, Charice — though she is a talented singer) unless of course, your name is Anne Hathaway. She’s said before that she wanted to cameo on the hit show, but she’s yet to be officially slated for a role.

Last winter, she and Glee creator Ryan Murphy ran into eachother at the Golden Globes and dreamed up a role in which she’d play Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) aunt and with graduation looming this year, a cameo of that caliber would make a lot of sense. There’s one small snag; though Murphy was very vocal at the time about making the Hathaway cameo happen, turning the chance encounter into a full-fledged news story, Hathaway says she hasn’t heard anything since, telling PopSugar, “I’m planning on it. I don’t know if they’re planning on it.”

Maybe this little freeze on her Glee dreams has something to do with Murphy’s new vision for Season Three, a large chunk of which rests on keeping the number of guest stars to a minimum and focusing on the glee club kids themselves. Still, Hathaway’s determined, jokingly saying, “Ryan Murphy, I’m calling you out: I want to be on Glee. I’ve got my songs picked out.”

Come on, Murphy. It couldn’t hurt to give Kurt a few extra family members for his high school graduation, right?
