She shaved her head on a whim, wielded an umbrella in her ex-husband’s driveway and ended up in the hospital more than once – and yet somehow Britney Spears has managed to pull herself up out of the mire.
Now the pop star is ready to come clean about her past in a 90-minute documentary called Britney Spears: For the Record, set to air on MTV on Nov. 30. The one off will include interviews with the mother of two, behind-the-scenes footage from the studio and documentary clips from her life. During one recorded segment Spears tells an interviewer, “I sit there and I look back…I’m a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?”
Set to air just days before the launch of her new album “Circus,” the singer hopes to the new show will help her fans understand where she’s coming from. “So much has gone on over the past couple of years and there’s a lot that people don’t know about me that I want them to know,” she told MTV News. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”
Spears certainly has a lot to look forward to on the career front including the release of her new music video “Womanizer” tonight and her new fragrance Hidden Fantasy due in stores this December.
