Carly Rae Jepsen Performs ‘Call Me Maybe’ With Jimmy Fallon, The Roots — VIDEO

Jimmy Fallon sure knows when to strike when the iron is hot to make viral clips featuring the unavoidable ear worms of young pop stars. The Late Night host, whose cover of Rebecca Black‘s “Friday” with Stephen Colbert is still funny over a year later, recently had Canadian sensation Carly Rae Jepsen to sing her massive hit “Call Me Maybe.”

While there have been plenty of covers and imitators as of late, no one does the song justice quite like Jepsen herself. Of course, there’s just an added element of sheer awesomeness when Fallon and his house band The Roots join in on the fun. Playing the instruments you rocked out with in elementary school (xylophones! kazoos! recorders!) Jepsen and co. manage to make the song you’ve heard roughly 789,298 times — today — so damn irresistible all over again.

Watch the giddy, giggly backstage performance below. This is crazy. (Here’s my number. Call me maybe.)
