U.S. television production companies, previously excluded from mainland China, may finally be able to enter the world’s biggest country, given published word that News Corp and AOL Time Warner are on the verge of signing an agreement to provide programs to an official state broadcasting company operating in Guangdong, near Hong Kong. Under the proposed deal, the U.S. companies would agree to reciprocate by opening a Chinese cable and/or satellite channel in the U.S.
