Emmy Winner Melissa McCarthy to Co-Create New Sitcom

ALTOne night after her Emmy win for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, Melissa McCarthy is already back at work — creating a new show.

McCarthy, who along with the success of her series Mike & Molly received notoriety for her role in the summer movie Bridesmaids, has sold a sitcom-pilot script to CBS with her husband/co-writer Ben Falcone (also featured in Bridesmaids).

The as-yet-untitled script, according to McCarthy, is “about a woman in her mid-40s who has a spectacular midlife crisis. The show is about what a midlife crisis means for a woman, which is very different from the way it affects men.”
