Hey Martin Scorsese, thanks for Boardwalk Empire. No really, thanks. It’s a beautiful looking show and promises to be great. Having said that, please don’t let the powers that be think they can take anything of yours and turn it into a television show. Apparently there are rumors of Goodfellas being considered for a television show.
The sound you just heard was a million palms hitting a million faces.
We don’t need a Goodfellas TV show. We have the movie. The movie was fantastic. It’s a classic. Why would you try to top it? You can’t. The expectations of the show would be too high and it would inevitably fail. The only thing it could possibly do to the legacy of the film is tarnish it.
For the sake of good taste, please let this be another nasty rumor that just dies. Let’s not speak of this any more and if we ignore it then hopefully it’ll just go away. We’ll just change the subject. Did you hear he got shot in the foot? What’s the big deal? Wait, dammit!
