Fallon, NBC Break ‘Records’ With New Game Show

Jimmy FallonAs a kid, The Guiness Book of World Records was a prized possession. I poured over that book reading about the largest, the fastest, the smallest, and the most anything in the world. I always hoped that I would someday get a little blurb written about me in the book, but then reality set in and I embraced my average ability in most things (woo mediocrity!). Now NBC and Jimmy Fallon are about to change that with a new game show that takes you and I, the average people that we are, and turns us into world record holders.

The only catch is that each record is extremely random. Like sticking plungers on yourself.

That’s a Record is being produced by the folks that brought you The Biggest Loser and Fallon. Hosting duties fall to Chris Hardwick, the host of Web Soup on G4 and the comedy nerd podcast Nerdist.

The show is based on the website URDB (Universal Record Database) where anyone can claim a world record if they present valid proof. Fallon had featured several games on his Late Night show which brought around the concept of the pilot. Current records featured on the site feature things like Fastest Time To Put On Three Shirts While Balancing On Another Person’s Shoulders (which is also the cutest video ever) and Longest Paper Football Field Goal (something I have been practicing for since 3rd grade). Needless to say, it’ll probably inspire you to practice at work.
