Michael C. Hall, Showtime Battling over ‘Dexter’ Contract’

ALTMichael C. Hall and Showtime are in the midst of intense negotiations over the actor’s Dexter contract, the outcome of which could determine whether Hall stays or leaves.

In order to keep Hall and his hit series on the network for another season or two — and end months of a somewhat contentious set of negotiations — the network is going to have to pony up a reported $20 million per year, which would make him one of the highest-paid cable stars.

The sixth season of the beloved crime (and punishment) series premiered this past Sunday to a record audience (2.2 million), and Dexter is Showtime’s highest-rated show overall.
