Weekend of Nov. 11-13
Top Tier
Friday
10 p.m. on Starz
“Slip”
Kelsey Grammer is quite literally killing it on this series and yet it only manages to draw around 300,000 viewers an episode — and it even dips below that number if you look at last week’s ratings. The series is a tad academic, but it’s worthwhile and smart television never hurt anyone — something has to counterbalance the damage Jersey Shore does to our brains. This week, Chicago mayor Tom Kane’s kingdom continues to crumble as the political shenanigans in his realm continue to grow.
Saturday
Saturday Night Live hosted by Emma Stone
It’s SNL and it’s hosted by the charming, adorable, hilarious, entirely lovable Emma Stone. The writing may be a little wonky this year on the long-lived sketch series, but Stone has enough charisma in her pinky to remedy that.
Sunday
“Chupacabra”
One of the best shows on television keeps on trucking and with just two episodes left before the series’ little winter hiatus that runs from December to February, we’ve got a lot of ground to cover. Lori’s pregnant, potentially with Shane’s child, and Sophia is still missing. And now that Glenn is privy to Lori’s little issue combined with the fact that he slept with the farmer’s daughter, Maggie, he’s feeling a little put upon. He’s holding too many secrets and it’s starting to get to him.
Dexter
9 p.m. on Showtime
“Nebraska”
This week it seems we’ll get some answers — hopefully. Why did Dexter’s dead brother return? Dexter takes a road trip to Nebraska to “tie up some loose ends.” Series usually bring out all the stops during sweeps, but bringing back the character who ensnared us all way back in Season One? That’s a pretty brilliant move.
Once Upon a Time
8 p.m. on ABC
This week, we delve further into the fairytale world of Storybrooke, Maine with a deeper look at Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold. We’ll see his true colors when a pregnant Cinderella steps into the picture. Things are getting pretty complicated on this storybook series.
