Recent Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is making the transition from big to small screen: She has been cast in the upcoming Showtime series The Big C.
Sidibe, who was nominated at Sunday’s Academy Awards for her title role in Precious, will appear in a recurring-guest-role capacity opposite Big C regulars Laura Linney and Oliver Platt.
The series centers on Linney’s Cathy, a suburban wife and mother diagnosed with terminal cancer.
