When I procreate with a husband-ish person someday in the distant future, I solemnly swear to not force my potential offspring to emerge from oversized, bedazzled egg-shaped vessel in a skimpy, neon costume. Why would I make such a specific promise to my future daughter? Well, I didn’t think I’d have to, but TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras has explicitly shown that this is a serious possiblity with the latest clip from the series. Toddler pageant queen, Laci, is prepping to do a dance number a la Lady Gaga, when her mother “sweetens” the deal by adding one last touch: her daughter is first going to crawl out of a giant egg to start her performance in the style of Gaga’s “Born This Way” performance at the 2011 Grammys. Putting the gross negligence of mixing such disparate Lady Gaga eras in one performance aside, Laci’s mom doesn’t bother to build an egg that won’t roll on its side and trip up her 2009 Lady Gaga protégé, which editing tells us is just about the worst thing ever. Can you see why we’re so excited that scripted TV like Parks and Recreation and Archer are returning soon?
