Everybody smile! Amid rumors of an on-set walk-off, X Factor judge Britney Spears assures she was only taking a break, y’all. TMZ.com reported on Thursday that the pop star left the judges table when she “was upset after a contestant butchered her song, ‘Hold It Against Me’ … Britney did not come back immediately and four contestants auditioned in front of the remaining judges and an empty seat.” (Fox coincidentally released a photo of the full judges’ table with L.A. Reid, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and a present Spears, seen here.)
After the rumors hit the web, Spears took to her Twitter to laugh off (out loud, no less) the story about her alleged diva moment at the auditions in Austin, Tex. “#Britneywalksoff???? LOL was just taking a little break people. I am having the BEST time!!!” she wrote. An unidentified X Factor source vouched for Spears’ story, telling TMZ, “[She] just took a short break.” Hollywood.com has reached out to Fox reps for comment.
