Philbin finally wins an Emmy — two, in fact

Regis Philbin was awarded two Emmys Friday night — for best talk show host and best game show host — his first wins after being nominated 11 times in the past. He shared the talk-show trophy with Rosie O’Donnell. His Who Wants to Be a Millionaire won for best game show for the second year in a row. The biggest victor at the so-called “Daytime Emmys” affair was CBS’ As the World Turns which snagged eight Emmys, thereby tying ABC’s General Hospital for the most awards during a single Emmys ceremony.
