The X-Files co-star Gillian Anderson has indicated that she is currently appearing in the series against her will. In an interview with Wednesday’s New York Times, Anderson said, “For a lot of people, if you don’t like your job, you can quit your job. I don’t necessarily have that option.” Anderson, who remains locked in a contract that expires two years after costar David Duchovny‘s, declined to join the growing criticism of the series, saying only that she would like to leave because “eight years is a long time.” Fox has yet to reveal whether it plans to renew the series for a ninth season.
