Another seemingly Hollywood storybook romance, the seven-year marriage of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin, is coming to a close.
According to Basinger’s spokeswoman, Annette Wolf, on Friday, the Oscar-winning actress filed for divorce from her political-activist husband, citing irreconcilable differences. Tabloids had reported the possibility of a breakup over the past few months.
Documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court stated that Basinger and Baldwin have been separated since Dec. 5. Baldwin is living at the couple’s New York residence while Basinger, along with the couple’s daughter, Ireland, 5, are living in Los Angeles, Wolf said.
Basinger was previously married to makeup artist Ron Britton, whom she divorced in 1989 after nine years of marriage.
Basinger, 47, and Baldwin, 42, who met on the set of the “The Marrying Man,” also appeared together onscreen in the 1994 remake of “The Getaway.”
Baldwin is currently on the big screen in “State and Main,” while Basinger‘s last onscreen appearance was in “Bless the Child.”
