Celine Dion has been “compelled to remain in bed” for a few weeks, the chest-thumping “Titanic” singer’s camp has announced, in the wake of “two small operations.” The first unspecified operation took place Thursday, the second on Sunday, a statement from the performer says.
A Montreal newspaper, meanwhile, reports that Dion, 32, is laid up after undergoing procedures at a New York fertility clinic in a bid to have a child by ailing husband/manager Rene Angelil.
Dion announced her “retirement” from recording and touring (at least for a couple of years) shortly after Angelil was diagnosed with skin cancer in April 1999.
Dion’s camp had a “no comment” on the fertility clinic story.
