Walk Disney Internet Group said it plans to consolidate assets and unveil a new revamped ABC.com Web site, with expanded entertainment and news content beginning this September, Reuters reports. The Internet group will incorporate content from Mr. Showbizz entertainment and Wall of Sound music sites on the new site. The consolidation also will result in a small number of job cuts later in the summer, when Disney plans to lay off company-wide as many as 4,000 employees. Currently, the company holds 1,500 employees. The site claims to link ABC’s news and entertainment more closely with the programming of ABC’s television network, and other Disney’s properties, which includes US Weekly Magazine.
