Judge exonerates Stephen King

U.S. District Judge David Hurd dismissed a lawsuit against horror writer Stephen King, saying that King‘s novel Desperation “didn’t plagiarize a college teacher’s work.” Hurd disagreed with allegations in a lawsuit filed by New York’s Ulster Community College professor Christina Starobin that her 1995 unpublished manuscript, Blood Eternal, was similar to Desperation. “Quite frankly, neither work was a particularly good work,” Hurd wrote in his decision filed April 17 in Utica, N.Y.
