Movie reviews: “Iron Monkey”

The debuting film receiving the best reviews is the Hong Kong-made Iron Monkey, originally produced in 1993 and already released straight to video — but rescued and presented on the theater screen for the first time by Miramax.

Tom Maurstad in the Dallas Morning News was among the critics enthralled by the film’s concluding sequence, writing: “Iron Monkey boasts one of the most breathtaking finales you will ever see, as the two great warriors, now united, battle the evil villain over a raging fire. It’s the perfect end for a movie that burns.”
