NBC is in “heated negotiations” to buy the No. 2 Spanish-language TV network Telemundo from Sony and Liberty Media for more than $2 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported today, citing people familiar with the situation. It had previously been reported that Viacom had been courting Telemundo, whose annual earnings are about half that of Univision, the leading Spanish broadcaster.
