It’s not easy looking like Vincent D’Onofrio in “The Cell,” or Willem Dafoe in “Shadow of the Vampire” for that matter.
Those two films, along with “Cast Away,” “Bedazzled” and “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will be considered for the Best Makeup Oscar nominations, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said today.
Members of the Makeup Award Nominating Committee will screen 10-minute clips from each of the films and can name up to three nominees for Oscar consideration.
The nominees for Best Makeup will be announced with the other 22 categories on Feb. 13 at 5:30 a.m. PT.
MUSIC TO OUR EARS: In other Oscar news, composer Bill Conti will return as the musical director for this year’s Oscar telecast. This will mark the impresario’s 15th time at the Academy Awards Orchestra.
