Propaganda buys “Helter Skelter”

Propaganda Films has bought the rights to the 1975 book Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi. Bugliosi, who also wrote the best seller Outrage: The Five Reasons Why O.J. Simpson Got Away With Murder, was the Los Angeles district attorney and lead prosecutor in the Manson Family murders. Helter Skelter, written with Curt Gentry, revolves around his investigation and prosecution of Charles Manson. CBS later adapted the book into a 1976 TV movie starring Steve Railsback as the twisted Manson. The rights to the book were tied up when the film’s producer, Lorimar Pictures, was bought in 1986 by Warner Bros. According to Reuters, the feature film would be distributed by Warner Bros. and Bugliosi would serve as executive producer.
