Star of stage, screen, and the upcoming Lord of the Rings trilogy, Ian McKellen has revealed on his Web site that the movie’s makers are busy re-shooting the opening scene of The Fellowship of the Ring. Fellowship is the first part of the $270 million trilogy. McKellen also disclosed that the prologue of the movie has been removed and that most of the film’s dialogue was re-recorded because the Wellington film studio was not adequately soundproofed. McKellen was called back to New Zealand for additional filming. The BBC reports that New Line execs will see a complete version for inspection in June.
