A Miami Beach crowd at a charity event were the first to hear Rosie O’Donnell‘s big news: she’s moving to Miami, reports People. “On May 22, 2002, when the contract for my TV show ends, I will be a full-time Miami resident.” She made her announcement at an event for CHARLEE (Children Have All Rights–Legal, Education and Emotional). CHARLEE is one of O’Donnell‘s pet charities–she serves as national spokeswoman–and one of the reasons O’Donnell appeared in Florida. “We need money. Florida is very, very under-funded when it comes to children in need.” O’Donnell, a magazine publisher as well as talk-show host, already owns a home on a tony, exclusive island in Biscayne Bay.
