Scott Evil Goes ‘Sweet’

The days of playing sonny are over for Seth Green. Green, who of course portrayed Dr. Evil’s smart-mouth son in Mike Myers‘ “Austin Powers” films, has inked a deal to join the likes of Billy Crystal, John Cusack and Catherine Zeta-Jones in “American Sweethearts,” Daily Variety says.

The film follows a veteran publicist (Crystal) who is faced with the problem of promoting a film whose two leading stars are going through a messy divorce in real life.

Green will play an upstart publicist being groomed to replace the Crystal character.

BERNIE’S THE MAC: There’s George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and now Bernie Mac. That’s right, Mac — one of the “Original Kings of Comedy” stars — is in talks to join the aforementioned big names in the remake of the Rat Pack vanity flick “Ocean’s 11,” Variety says. Mac will play one of the titular 11, who — as the story goes — plan to knock off a bunch of Vegas casinos in one night.

ROACH ‘KISSES’: So what happens after you direct the surprise hit of the season? Just look at Jay Roach. Roach, who helmed the fall runaway hit “Meet the Parents” is in talks to direct “50 First Kisses,” a romantic comedy for Columbia, Variety reports. Roach was enlisted to the project only days after the studio paid a mid-six figure for the script about a man who falls in love with a woman with short-term memory disorder.
