The teaser trailer for The Chosen Season 5 has finally dropped, offering a glimpse of the pivotal Last Supper scene between Jesus and his apostles.
Creator Dallas Jenkins reveals that the upcoming eight-episode season of The Chosen explores the events of the final days leading to Jesus’ crucifixion, answering the age old question: “What causes people to shift from praising Him to calling for His death?” The season focuses on the intense week before the cross, featuring moments like the crowds welcoming Jesus as their king and the intimate Last Supper with His disciples.
Titled The Chosen: Last Supper, the new season was filmed in cinematic style and will premiere in theaters on March 27, 2025, conveniently just in time for Easter. The series will be shown in three parts over a four-week period: Part One (episodes 1-2), Part Two (episodes 3-5), and Part Three (episodes 6-8). After its theatrical run, the season will be available for streaming later in 2025. Watch the full teaser trailer below.
What Happens in The Chosen Trailer?
The Season 5 teaser begins with Jesus speaking to His 12 apostles during the Last Supper, the final meal He shares with His disciples before His crucifixion. “Listen carefully,” Jesus says, seated at a table bathed in soft candlelight, as the room grows still. “I’m about to tell you what is about to happen.”
The teaser also offers a glimpse of what Jenkins calls “the most epic moment” of the season: Jesus, furious over the temple being used as a marketplace, uses a whip He fashioned to overturn the tables in a powerful display of righteous anger.
“This is a famous scene where Jesus is flipping tables, shouting, and showing a side of Himself we haven’t yet seen in The Chosen,” Jenkins explains. “Not only is He explosive in that moment, but it also sparks explosive reactions from those around Him. In the teaser, we’re giving you a hint of how some of Jesus’ enemies are reacting — and how one of His apostles struggles to understand this radical, unexpected side of the Messiah.”
